My vectorized creation

I was doodling in photoshop and created a new character. I don't have a back story for him, because I was experimenting with some new techniques. Then I decide, to try and vectorize him. I first tried importing the PS file and using live tracing, but that didn't work out like I thought it would. So I used the pencil tool and traced over the original image.

I have two version, the doodle from photoshop and the vectorized version.

Can you guess which ones which?

Da Black Swan

My friend asked me to design a logo for his new website, called da black swan. The meaning behind the name is events of large magnitude. He's a photographer and he wants to post his work that he does outside of work. So, I have created 3 different logos....which one do you like?

What works? What doesnt?

I-camp 2.0.....Campivate

On November 16th I submitted my resume for the position available in the print center at Harrington College of Design. On November 19th I doubled back and volunteered and ended up really getting trained for the position that's available. I knew I would not be the only one applying for the position but I did not want to be the only one without any experience. I separated myself from the pack and will know if I am hired on November 23rd.
I volunteered at Wired Sales Group and was picked to be paid as a server for the evening of November 5th. It was an interesting evening filled with information liquor and Tai.

Godiva.com
I think that Godiva has a good logo. The reason being; when you think of Godiva's you think of chocolate particularly chocolate strawberries. Chocolate is a symbol of romance, relaxation, and desire. Most people desire things they should not have. From locally to globally and even virtually Godiva's gives a strong perception of romance, relaxation and desire. A lot of people sneak and eat chocolate because they either refuse to share or more than likely on a diet. Chocolate is also considered an aphrodisiac and men often give it as a gift to women to set the mood of romance and to increase arousal. I love chocolate and I love fruit particularly Godiva's chocolate raspberry cups.

Fila online store
I believe Fila does not have a good logo. When a person hears the name Fila or sees the logo a good athletic shoe with endurance and just plain athleticism does not come to mind. Fila is not a shoe that is widely worn in the African American community. Fila is mainly sold in a discount store that a person will not particularly shop for shoes. I do not wear gym shoes nor will I purchase a Fila gym shoe if I wore gym shoes. Fila usually makes a physically unattractive shoe. Fila has not had a strong NBA player to be the face of their brand. I can bet that you have not purchased a Fila shoe in the last five years. Well have you?

My Insomnia

Wow! Its 2 in the morning right now and I cant sleep, so I thought I might blog a little before I fall asleep. This week has been really hectic and I've also felt a little under the weather. From the sale beginning at work; to working on a couple of designs for the new logo, which I'll post and see what you guys think. Too bad I couldn't get to enjoy this fine weather we've been having ( which I hope lasts), I was stuck inside this whole weekend. Also I've been checking out everyone else's blogs and they look great, keep up the great work guys!

I cant wait for class tomorrow, it should be interesting day......G'night Interwebz

The fusion of Out of the Box and Fuzeit

So today was the second day of class. I worked with 'Out of the Box' today and had a great experience working with their studio. So... Fuzeit has decided to join forces with Out of the Box.

Today was one of our design challenges. We were given the task to make an outfit, soley using brown recycled paper, honeycomb board, and two types of tape. I was pretty overwhelmed. But as the day unfolded that feeling came and left. We needed to incorporate the design philosophy of eco-friendly. So after many good and bad ideas, we came up with a dress that's focal point were two giant leaves. The name of the design was Veinity. This was created in order to relate leaves(nature) and us as humans; both in need of veins for surrvival. The vanity of our outfit could be seen as vane, should we not recognize the nature in it.

The day flew by and at the end all of the working parts and parties came together to create a functioning piece of fashion. Many smiles were had...
Today the runway project for fuzeit and out of the box was hectic. There was some frusrtating times with those dang gone shoes. The thong of the shoe came apart numerous times. The ankle strap was too tight and snapped at first and it was way too much tape that made the shoes look tacky. I ended up giving the shoes a clean look and reinforcing the straps and thongs. In the end the shoes turned out to be the most effective. I owe a lot of credit to my team mates who worked so hard on the dress, of course I helped but the dress was looking so stunning I could not let my team mate have a nice dress and terrible shoes
